i felt like such a loser
my whole life everyone always told me, ' nothing's ever black and whitee'.
I'll get my way, everything will be (:
I'll get my way, everything will be (:
boogeyman

I was hanging out with my friends when my crush, who is also a friend, walked up and sat next to me. He began flirting with me and held my hand-i was so excited ! Then he started talking about how he hates it when people have boogers hanging out of their noses and they dont even notice it. We all started laughing. He turned to me and smiled, then laughed again. I asked why he was laughing, and he didnt answer right away, but then he moved both of our hands up to my face and said, 'Get that booger. I dont want to touch it.' i was mortified !

BFF OR BIATCH ?

Boys may come and go, but your girls are there for life. Or, at least, that's the expectation. As most of us learn sooner or later, real life is a tad messier. Fights, falling outs, new schools and interstate relocations can turn the best of friendships sour. And sometimes (just like with boys), you wake up only to discover you dont really have anything in common with your friends anymore. So how do you deal when your mates leave you feeling like me, crying out for a friend upgrade ?
TIME FOR A CHANGE !
Maybe your buds have all got boyfriends and spend their recess, talking in soppy tounges. Maybe you're the only one in your group who's allowed to go on the weekend. Or maybe my friends are obsessed with PROJECT RUNWAY or BEAUTY AND THE GEEK and i more interested in stopping climate change.Whatever the specifics, it can be awkward(to say the least) when i start grow in a different direction to my friends. I might feel guilty for wanting to hang out with other people. They might feel betrayed if i dont sit with them at recess. Or i might feel resentful that they were (wether that's talking openly about their home lives, not taking taking drugs or alcohol, or being willing to go to films with subtitles in them). If this is the case, it might be time to seek out some new friends.
UPGRADE YOU
Experimenting with your identity and figuring out who you are is one of the most interesting bits about being a teenager. Think about it : how many of us are the same girl in standard 2 that we were in form 2 ? So, why do we expect that we'll stay friends with the people we meet at the beginning of primary school till high school for the rest of our lives ? Making a new friends is a great way to learn more about yourself - what i like to do in my spare time, what you're passionate about, what kind of people i act like my best self around. And as you grow older and change, its only natural that the people i fit with best change too.
CHANGING MATES
Enter the new BFF. She's cool, she's funny and - best of all - she's into all the same things. She and my 'BFF' change mates more often than they do boyfriends, but changing friends in high school is a little trickier. Question like which group to sit with at recess or who i sit next to in class can be fraught with politics *grins* If i want to escape these kinds of explosions, there's only one way to deal. I've got to rise above the politics and try to think like that girl in my grade who isnt tied to any one group, but has friends in all different circles.
WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR OLD FRIENDS ?
Friendship isn't a zero-sum equation -just cos i've made a new friend doesn't mean i can't stay friends with my old ones. And even if a friendship's passed its 'best by' date, it doesn't mean it didn't have its awesome days. The facts that my current friends aren't fulfilling my every need doesnt mean it's not worth staying friends with them - chances are taht once the gloss wears off my new bestie, i'll discover she isn't perfect either (it's part of being human). Use the things i still have in common with my old friends to maintain the friendship. That way, i can have the best of all worlds - new friends, old friends and an everchanging you :)
